Do you mean trackball controls? Actually it has been here for ever 😉 This is actually the first and only mode that was in Mecabricks 5 years ago.

No its not about trackball, strangely what I could do today afternoon I am not able to do now 😃.

Anyways this is what I meant

1. This is the rest position i.e. no rotation along z axis, grid is almost on horizontal plane and model is above it.

2. This is how it normally works for me, I can turn it along Z axis only till the gird is along the vertical plane and model behind it (or in front if turn in opposite direction) this is what I meant by limited to 180 degrees, afternoon I was able to go past this but now its again stopping here .

3. This is what I could do when I said we can turn 360 degress, gird is rotated along z-axis full 360 degrees, as you can see grid is above the model which is upside down. (I could do this couple of hours back but I am not able to do it now. I simulated it for the screenshot by flipping the model along Z-Axis).

Are you sure you just didn´t by misstake press numpad 9 to change to trackball? Default mode is turntable every time you start mecabricks? But i can understand if it´s confusing because i don´t like the trackball mode since i think to model always drift away in a direction i don´t want it... 😉 You should have noticed that i belive?
