Question about triangulation and bevel
HVossi92 started this discussion in Help and Tips

Hey,
I'm new to mecabricks, so I apologise if this was already covered, but I couldn't find anything.
I get that it is an online tool which is supposed to be fast. But when I export an OBJ it is triangulated and without bevel. Due to the triangulation I can't bevel it in C4D, or do any re-modeling.
So how do you guys work with the objs to get photo real looks? I saw something about a Blender Script, but since I work in C4D I'd love to hear from someone who uses that as well 😃

Best regards and thx for any answers 😃

The beveled edges you see on most renderings here are not part of the geometry, but a shading method applied during rendering. For C4D you can use the shader found under http://www.biomekk.com/index.php?itm=18 available for free since a couple of weeks. It should give you similar results without the need to modify your model.

Thank you for the Link, but when I try it on a simple Cube, I already get artefacts, like little cubes on the edges. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I can't figure out how to get reasonable results.
