Hello, I've been talking to zanna about it a bit, and I'm wondering if it would be allowed for people to sell their renderings.
I think it's legal, there's a guy selling some of his LEGO photography (http://brickset.com/article/26000/fine-art-lego-prints-by-alex-valeur), and he's been doing it for two years now. He's got a disclaimer on his website saying that he's not endorsed by LEGO or the company's products he's using. Knowing that Brickset is affiliated with LEGO, they probably wouldn't promote illegal merchandise.
So if Scrubs would allow it, I'd love to have the option of selling some of my Mecabricks renderings. Maybe a donation should be required? What does everyone else think? Please feel free to leave your thoughts!
That's a really cool idea, considering how much time and effort people put into some of their renderings. I think having a donation option would be a cool, that way people can decide themselves what the picture is worth. But I think along with that you would have to add a minimum donation amount.
There's a donation button on the home page and in the Parts Library already. That's why I suggested donating. 😉
Maybe if instead of selling renders (or getting donations for them) you could make it so you can support people by donation if you want, however you still get free access to their work either way.
Like KickStarter? Where you get free stuff if you donate a certain amount? I suppose that would be possible.
