Some darker models should appear on a lighter background, since they are really hard to recognize in the Sketchfab previews. I'm not sure if that process can be automated, though. I assume that this would require the calculation of a mean brightness value of a model in order to determine the background color to be used, if that's at all possible on a per-model basis (I'm not into the Sketchfab API).
Sketchfab isn't used anywhere on the site except in the shop as I'm aware.
Do you mean the model previews or the library previews?
Yes, the library previews.
I was wondering when I saw the title what you were meaning as I don't use sketchfab for anything here (except for previews in the shop).
If you are talking about the background of the preview images in the library, I understand better 😛
I could look at something. A little bit of image processing with imagemagick would do the job. I might try one day if I have some free time.
