I bought the High-rez minifigure model today, and so far the Obj and .dae files are working fine in Cinema 4D.
My question is about re-aligning decals from other mecabrick minifigure models onto the high-rez one. I can get the texture close to the originals, but I am trying to be accurate in my scaling (such as making sure the face is not larger than it would be on a real minifigure). Is the easiest way to just guess and get it as close as possible, or are there ways of measuring to accurately align the Uvs with the texture?
Hello,
UVs between mecabricks workshop minifig and high-res one are slightly different but they shall be usable most of the time by re-organising the elements. Also note that there are multiple iterations of uvs in use in the workshop for a same part (I think that the head has 3).
For the head, I generally take as a reference the 2 mold lines (horizontal sharp edges running all around the piece).
On the contrary of part models, I don't really measure anything to locate decorations. I take it as a very visual process. I only visually compare with real part or photo.
Thanks, that what I have kind of been doing, was able to visually align it pretty well. I will post some pictures of it later.
