I don't have an idea what you mean with c1, c2, etc but Mecabricks currently doesn't add any custom parts. Only parts that have a real id and can be lookup using http://brickset.com/parts are added.

This conversation on eurobricks is what I was talking about http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=79778
there are a number of custom bricks, which seem to be used in mecabricks.

The parts do exist in Mecabricks, but are hidden for public. I don't think that there are any plans to add (more) custom parts among the real LEGO Parts. But yeah, in the experimenting phase more than 3 years ago, everything could happen. Mecabricks has grown alot since then.

What are your plans with Mecabricks? If you want, you can always private message Scrubs about your ideas, and maybe they get implemented! 😃

cool. I think Mecabricks could be the leading digital lego designer program pretty soon. The balance of user friendly interface and powerful tools are great. and the openness to ideas will, I'm sure, lead to a very prominent program/user base. I think that an application version of Mecabricks that could be run offline would be a great (and helpful) feature; as would a piece authoring program or collection of tutorials. personally, I have wanted to be able to design my own pieces for a while now, and would be super exited if Mecabricks could become a place to share, if not design, pieces and decorations. Anyway, this program looks like it has huge potential, and is well on it's way to becoming the most powerful lego building software available!

Thank you for your kind works!

There was a time when Mecabricks was smaller and I had time to experiment features. I think that most custom bricks were design by Nachapon. There are only a handful of them. Nowadays, those pieces are still in the library but hidden. I kept them for backward compatibility with the models that have been built at that time.

Regarding a desktop app, it is not really in my plans. The whole idea behind Mecabricks is to provide the same version of the workshop with the same part library to everybody. No need to download anything. What you have is always the latest version. Besides, I don't know anything about code for stand alone apps 😉

Now how do I add custom decorations on pieces in part manager

You can check this video. Remember that custom decorations are currently not accessible outside of the part manager.

So I can't make my own custom parts?

Yes you can. This post is from October last year. If you check more recent topics or follow mecabricks development, you will see that it is now all integrated and working.

How do I make custom parts??

Never mind

Are there plans to add more actual lego parts? one of my builds uses both part # 87614 and #1 3549, but I don't see them in the library.

wait how do I make custom parts?

@Cakery, you can't add custom part, only custom decorations to parts converted to the new part system(the ones with the little number 2 in the corner).

yeah
how about making them?

ok
So there is no way to use custom decorations without an external software?
Also, I read your last post, and I see your directions about custom decorations, but not custom parts.

You obviously need a software to draw your decorations first...

@Cakery, as I said before, you can not make your own 3d models(meshes) and import to mecabricks, you can only make custom decorations(prints) that you can attach to a converted part which makes a "custom part". To do that you'll first need to draw your decoration in a external software. Next you upload it to your personal 5MB storage on mecabrick, then you can assign it to a part in the part manager(see @Scrubs Youtube tutorial above in this thread).

There are also several other threads in this forum explaining how to do it.

Hi guys I'm assuming not all parts are converted, for example I wanted to use the Banana ref 25977 as I wanted to add a logo and do something else then assign it, is there an easy way to see if a part has been converted to enable me to decorate it?
Thanks and Mecabricks has brought me so much fun these last few weeks 😃
