Hi,
This suggestion might be dumb (maybe it exists and I do not kno how) but it would be awesome to have a texturable version of all bricks. Like a dummy texture with one dummy color/grid per side or element of the brick to allow easier change for the bricks textures before rendering.
Cheers
Hello,
To get lighter files - mecabricks is an online app - uvs are not included in parts that are not decorated. If a part is missing it and you really need it, you can create the map. It is a big work to create uvs for every single part when it might never be used 😉
Hello Scrubs,
thanks for the answer 😉 . Do you know if there is at least a "simple" way to find out the dimention of the png file used for texturing? For example, if I want to apply a texture on Mario's hat to have the M appear, how can I find out the dimention of the png file load in the texture node?
Thanks 😃
Resolution of the texture doesn't matter once you made the uv map. If it is higher resolution you will simply have a better quality for close-up.
OK, thanks, I will research this a bit 😃
By the way, if I end up being able doing this (like a UV map for the hat), are you interested in me sharing this with you? The same applies for some textures (like the coin counter in the mario rendered image): are you happy if those are forwarded to you or do you prefer keeping control over your tool?
For good tutorials about Blender, you can check http://www.blenderguru.com/
For french ones (as I think you are 😉) check Blenderlounge on youtube.
I only add official LEGO decorations and stickers in the library.
There are a couple of tutorials to design textures for mecabricks in the forum with links to resources.
If you have some of that I'd be happy to include them. There are a couple of guys having a special access and training to add decorations and quite a few others who are sending me the files that I add myself. (I am the only one to add new geometries though).
Thanks for both answers, the link and the clarification 😉 And you guess was correct concerning my frenchness. I do not know if you close toppics, but it could be closed.
And I am very amazed with the work your did here. Congrats.
No worries. It is hard work but I really like doing it 😛
I found out when you mentioned CPC and that I saw the link for your images. I remain a bit french even if I lived in New Zealand for the past 10 years. I'm actually coming back there for a holiday in less than 2 weeks.
Well... Hapy coming back then ^^. I do not live in France either (but not far, in Germany).
Good catch for CPC. They are curently hosting a contest about "Lego and Videogames". Since I do not own a single brick and that LDD made me crazy from the start, I got very happy when I found your interface which I find much more intuitive, more comfortable to use and more appealing for the eye. I'm glad to see the community around it also being very helpful. So once again great job 😉
