Hello Mecabrickers,
I want to order/buy parts according to the used parts in my model.
How do I get an overview of used parts?
Thanks in advance,
Warenhuis
If you make the model public, then view the public "viewer" version of the model, there is a tab you can click on that will give you the inventory.
Ok, thank you.
You can also access the CSV part list for your private models, but it is a little bit hidden.
http://www.mecabricks.com/fr/inventory/_ALPHANUM_CODE_.csv
Someone coded a function to get the part list in the xml format especially for Bricklink but I did not include yet. It shall come very soon.
I just tried the Bricklink XML export, and BL gave me an error that said "One of the items in the XML file is invalid or does not exist in the Bricklink Catalog." That's a less-than-ideal error message on BL's part. I wrote them to ask about enhancing it to tell the user which part(s) are invalid.
Just in case, is there anything on Mecabricks' end that could be done to only export valid parts?
There's a chance that one of the id got messed up. If you post the model url here, I will take a look to get it fixed or at least to find the root cause. 😉
If my model has the code "abc123" and I put it into http://www.mecabricks.com/fr/inventory/abc123.csv
then I get this error http://www.mecabricks.com/inventory/abc123.csv not found. How does it work correctly?
The way you insert the code into the url is correctly. Let say if http://mecabricks.com/en/workshop/yDp2lqyQjMV-1 is a workshop link, then the code to use here is yDp2lqyQjMV and I need to insert this into the url http://www.mecabricks.com/fr/inventory/yDp2lqyQjMV.csv to get an inventory.
hello sim, thx for the fast answer.
I tried it a second time with my model code http://www.mecabricks.com/fr/inventory/LVyvnn5ovl3-1.csv and I got the same Error (several Browsers).
In the error message the "fr" in the url is missing (Error 404: Page http://www.mecabricks.com/inventory/LVyvnn5ovl3-1.csv not found.) - is this correct ?
By the way: Your link is working!
My model is not "public", may that be the problem?
Hello,
If you are logged in, it is ok even if your model is private.
Just remove "-1" before ".csv". This is the revision number of the model and this doesn't work for inventory file.
it works now, thx for the tip
