Hello!
One thing that I (and presumably all of MECABRICKS's Blender users) would appreciate is to have all of the studs and other pseudo-non-essential areas of models to have their own vertex groups so that a Mask Modifier could easily be added (to speed up the UI in Blender when organizing your scene 😉 ). Might just be me wanting this, buuut... would be nice, if possible!

Tell me if I am wrong but vertex groups are specific to Blender. I don't think I can write that in a collada file.
