Hello, everyone!
I recently imported RAKRONDEWL's Barad-dur LDD model that he posted at http://www.us.lego.com/en-us/gallery/eb963081-87f1-4b55-9d37-846e7325061a?index=2&memberid=RAKRONDEWL into MECABRICKS. However, whenever I try to export it, MECABRICKS crashes. I have not been able to fix this problem...the Barad-dur file can be found HERE http://www.mecabricks.com/en/models/Z79a8g9Bv8w. I'd appreciate any tips as to how to export it!
Many thanks,
Ngriffin7a
Which format do you select and which option (if Collada)? Do you also tick the box for Logos?
I use the Wavefront .obj option; no, I don't have the Logo box selected. I had a similar problem with the Ghostbuster's Firehouse HQ as well....
This is the reason. OBJ format is not made for big models. It doesn't use instances for the geometry. Therefore position of every single vertex, face and uv coordinate in the scene has to be computed and recorded which requires a lot of calculation and produces huge files. I assume there is a problem of memory that crashes the browser. It happens to me too if I try with massive models.
Just switch to Collada and select one of the Group options. Fast and light.
OK. Thanks for the tip, Scrubs!
It also crashes for me. But, if you export to Collada, then how do you view it in 3d elsewhere (on apps that require OBJ files)?
