After images, the next step is animation. I never really looked into that before so my first attempt is a bit average. I'm still sharing it with you!

Great job on the putting on a space suit. Visually flows nicely.

Thanks!

Worked on my face rig, and had someone else render this for me! As it would have taken me 1 month to render! it took them 31 hours

that looks awesome!

Thank you!

Hey for anyone interested in making brickfilms in blender, I’ve created a discord server and subreddit for people to share ideas, ask questions, share techniques, collaborate on anything related to specifically making brickfilm animations inside blender. Thought it could be a cool place for animators.

Here are the links for anyone interested, hopefully we can get a lot of people to join

Subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/BrickfilmsInBlender/

Greetings.

For anyone interested, I have posted a very brief tutorial on how I do my minifigure lipsync on YouTube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b1😝LRRLJE

I have also made my Python script available on drop box for anyone who wants to try it out or change it, improve it etc. including the mouth shapes that used to be available from http://bricktrick.de The links are on the Youtube video description.

I have done a run down on how to extract the image texture from the Mecabricks minifigure for both Blender 2.7x and 2.8x (I see we are on Blender 2.81 already.)

You will need Python 3 to run the script and I do suggest you make it into an exe files once you have changed it to suit as it makes the workflow so quick. You will want to change the mouth size and position probably as I have set it up to my personal taste which is a lot smaller then a standard minifigure mouth.

Using this method, I can extract the audio segment, get the phenoms (Papagayo), produce the png sequence and apply to a minifigure ready to render in 5 - 10 minutes per segment. Once the workflow is set up, it is just a question of breaking the dialogue down into chunks that can be handled easily. No point in trying to work with 2 minute long dialogues as it becomes unmanageable using any method.

I hope this gives some inspiration for all fellow Blender Brickfilmers.

Its my first Tutorial so I apologize if I have been too brief or too slow or missed anything out. I have tried to keep it fast paced so people don't fall asleep trying to watch it. It does assume that you know your way around Blender.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_V3nLS0IE0 you can find some 3d lego animations in this video

I am also making a lego minifigure rigging tutorial, and I have made a mouth rig tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8EmSZW9wLg&t

Hi guys! Made this short film for my school film awards. 2 week challenge. Rendered using Sheep It! Modelled using Mecabricks.

Hope you like it!

@Sommer123456 That is a cool video. That would be more appropriate to also credit Mecabricks for the 3D assets if this is what you have used. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks scrubs! Sorry for not crediting mecabricks. It was quite a rushed job. I’ll put it in the description.

Another animation done! Using Mecabricks, Blender and my new 2d face rig addon that should hopefully be for sale soon! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13F2lA6aHVU

I'm rendering one, right now! And I thought keyframing overlays was time-consuming!

Well, it finished rendering, but the output is terrible quality. The individual frames are good-quality, but for some reason the video itself is pixelated and blocky. Does someone know why this is?

What are you using to sequence the frames together?

My mistake: I was outputting the file directly as an MPEG-4. I've been told that the best (and only) way to render animations in Blender is to render each individual frame as a PNG file and then sequence them in a video editor. I'm going to be trying that, next.

You can also use the Blender sequencer afterwards with your images. It is how I did for this video. It was only a few clicks.

Alright, I'll probably try that! Thanks!
