Greetings. Please can anyone assist in the problem I am having adding Quick Smoke using the marvelous Mecabrick template import template into Blender.
I am using Cycles render and the smoke does not appear.
I can get everything to work happiness and light using the solid view, but when I render, there is no smoke, just the emitter which appears as a solid sphere.
I have played with various settings, but obviously have missed a vital box that needs to be ticked.
Can any one help? Please!
Hello,
Not too sure I can help you on that one. It goes beyond my knowledge of Blender.
Can you make it work in a Blender project other than my template?
Hi Scrubs. Sorry, not been on Mecabricks for a few days as i am working tirelessly getting this animation going.
Yes, I can get the smoke to work without loading the Mecabrick Template that gives the super finish to the lego parts. As soon as i have the Template loaded, I can get the smoke in the preview but not in the render so am assuming it has to do with the world settings, or order of settings or something.
I am a total newbie in Blender, having a very small amount of experience in Carrara. Finding Blender very un-intuitive but VERY impressed at its versitality. Especially as a free piece of software.
I have ordered a bunch of their books to learn a bit more of what goes on under the bonnet and also to support the cause financially in a small way.
I was experimenting with fog, and i think the problem is that the smoke/fog doesn't work with environment texture lighting (The default for the template)
It might work if you add an additional light to the scene like a spot light.
Thanks UmbraManis. I will play with that and report back.
