i would really like this because i'm mainly doing renders in Source Filmmaker. i'm planning on doing animation and i tried to add like 4 large LEGO buildings. i was going into limits that it kept crashing SFM. i wish that exporting model to .mdl could have some kind of option where i could hide polygons that are not visible. like when you have 2x2 brick on baseplate, it will not export polygons under that brick and baseplate. i know i could do it myself but that's a lot of work, and i already put a lot of work porting them into SFM. also i know i could use Blender for making animation but the problem is that i don't know how to do animation in blender and i prefer to do animations in SFM. it's also mainly because i learnt Blender as a modeling program rather than a program where i could make renders and animations.
also i forget to mention that i'm from Czech Republic so my English isn't the best
Hello,
It is quite a tricky one which doesn't have any answer so far.
You would need some sort of dynamic geometry for every single brick to remove unwanted faces and a way of knowing what is visible and what is not.
None of that is currently achievable.
P.S. No worries for your English 😉 It is not the mother tongue of most of us here anyway.
will it be achievable in future? also is it possible to make something like level of detail? like that models wouldn't be so high poly as they are. also i'm glad to see that English is not the main language for most people here 😄
