Some time ago there was a part list available under models? Were has this gone to?
Kinda gone for now.
I'm trying to think about a better way to do it - There will be another menu inventory next to About and Share at some stage.
What kind of list would be useful for you?
^^ The one that is "kinda gone for now".
Basically I was using this list to compare it with the brickset inventory list to check if there are still errors in my model regarding colors, pieces, ...
Will the list gonna reappear soon ?
I have talk about Mecabrick to one of my friend and he would like to have access to the list to buy the piece needed.
I think the list was just fine the way it was.
Probably not for another couple of months in a proper definitive version. However, I can put back up the csv file generator in a day or two?
That would be cool. Thank you !
Yeah, please put this back up. 😉
I vote yes as well!
CSV Part List is back!
You can get the part list of any public models (and your own private ones) by using this type of url:
http://www.mecabricks.com/{language}/inventory/{alphanumid}.csv
Here is an example: http://www.mecabricks.com/en/inventory/DoK2wlrMj9k.csv
I'll add a menu on the model page soon too.
Hope it is what you wanted 😉
Oh! Thanks a lot! Eventually I hope it to be back on the site as well but for now I'm happy. 😉
Whilst export to Excel via csv is the most normal purpose for this kind of functionality, it would also be useful to have an on screen version (particularly as I've now discovered that MECABRICKS works on iPads). I would imagine something that uses the same table layout as 'parts', but with one of the later columns replaced with "number" (in model), and each coloured part listed on a separate line.
I finally decided to tackle it. It shall be online in the next day or so.
It is now online. I added a tab INVENTORY between ABOUT and SHARE on the model page.
I hope it will suit what you wanted out of it.
That's fantastic 😃
I second that ^^ 😄
I'm feeling a bit daft now. How can I find the model page? I did find it once, but I find the behaviour inconsistent between going into your own name in the top right, finding one of your models in the Library or choosing to Open a model in the Workshop (the latter is what I usually do), but none of those are giving me a model page at the moment.
I managed to get a downloaded inventory, but I could only find the alphanumeric code for the model by making the model public, and choosing to link. Can you get that code for non-public models?
Regards
Lee
Hello,
Model page is only available for public models.
The CSV inventory is also available for your private models if you are logged in. To find the code, display the data for the model in your private library, then click on the Link menu. Click on the Eye icon to open it in the workshop. The url in your browser contains the alphanumeric code as well as the revision number.
I'll see if I have some time to make it easier to find.
Thanks!
I was thinking it would be nice to have a running list in the Workshop, that contains your current parts.
Maybe "Library >" could be a drop down menu to choose between the a new part from the Mecabricks library, or a re-selecting a current part in your build. And the list of parts in your build has quantities & colors already used.
The parts list seems to have gone the way of the dinosaurs again.
Man, i really need this list, it's kinda tiring to write the materials one by one
